A 4 star review is as good as a 5 star review, but with room for improvement. However. This time I give a 4 star review more so to emphasize on the how this product can actually explode if shaken too much during delivery and handling. I always leave a message emphasizing fragile handling, but I always receive my batch with the lid ready blow from all the stored pressure building up from inside. Somehow delivery guys mishandle my box all the time. So until FTN finds a way to deliver this SHAKE FREE, then expect this explode on you, any given Sunday. Juice lost means dry Sauerkraut, and wasted Probiotics. It does lose its bitterness due to a lack of its own juices, so I will drizzle some ACV over it when dished up. The sauerkraut itself is awesome. This is actually after too many return purchases. I buy 1 batch every month. So, I thoroughly enjoy it.
2nd Review. 2nd Purchase. Each batch is different. The second bottle I bought was live and almost exploded upon opening. I lost all the juice, so my sauerkraut has nothing to soak in. But it's still holding its taste well. Make sure you have something to catch the juice when opening for the first time. That juice is equally important
This is by far the best sauerkraut I have ever had the pleasure to eat. I am thankful that it is obviously still "alive" when it gets to me, but a warning label or note to advise opening the bottle over a bowl would have been very much appreciated. That would have prevented a quarter of the kraut and most of the juices landing on the table and floor.
A delicious sauerkraut that is not too acid at all, and then raw which contains all the good microbes, helps with gut helyhe.
This is the real thing. No starters, just naturally fermented. Alive and bubbling away - let it rest a bit after you receive it, then open it very slowly with the jar standing in a bowl, to catch the juice. I don't handle sulfurous veggies very well, but I use this strained to juice to ferment coconut water (with added sugar and a bit of inulin powder) and it ferments it perfectly.
