Cananga odorata is a small but fast-growing tree native to Southeast Asia but has been spread to China, India and parts of tropical Africa where it is cultivated for its beautiful yellow flowers and essential oil. It thrives in hot, humid climates with average temperatures ranging between 20-27°C and 650-4000 mm of annual rainfall.
