Aether Apothecary
Aether Apothecary stands at the forefront of bioceutical innovation in South Africa, offering a selection of rare, indigenous botanicals and medicinal mushrooms to local and international markets. Founded in 2017 by Cullen and Ricky-Anne, Aether was born from a desire to share the knowledge and healing power of therapeutic herbs and medicinal mushrooms throughout South Africa. Inspired by the rich pharmacopoeia of botanical and fungal medicines native to South Africa, Aether began its journey making basic extracts from the kitchen of its pioneers, trading small batches at various markets around Cape Town. From these humble beginnings, Aether is now based on an Eastern Cape farm with its beautiful laboratory powered by local communities from Nyara, Soto and Haga Haga villages. Aether also partners with doctors and holistic practitioners to provide thoughtfully and scientifically crafted medicine to patients. Every step we take is rooted in service: to the land, the people, and the healing path we walk.
Superior Lab-Made Proprietary Extraction
Aether makes use of a proprietary extraction protocol that harnesses precision ultrasound, pressure, and heat to gently draw out every last drop of goodness from its raw materials. This refined process ensures that each extract retains its potency, purity, and integrity for a powerful end product.
Safe & Clean Raw Material Backed By Science
Rooted in transparency and backed by science, Aether showcases its raw materials' traceability from origin, sterility, heavy metal and pesticide levels to ensure accountability for all medicines made. Free from additives, every formulation uses clean ingredients, ensuring safe, potent, and uncompromised medicine in every drop.
This Is Our Purpose, This Is Our Heart
This is our life's work, and guided by passion and determination, we honour the call with precision and heart. We vow to craft the best medicines for the best prices and uplift people as we do it.
Sustainable & Regenerative Practices
Sustainability is at the forefront of everything Aether does. Committed to community development, environmental stewardship and sustainability, we use local production and supply chains, create jobs, ensure fair wages for harvesters, educate staff and surrounding youth while reducing reliance on fossil fuels by running a 100% off-the-grid facility.
