Stefani Filter Replacement Tap

I could never recommend this product. The quality has nosedived on this fully plastic object over the years, with the last one bought lasting less that 4 months! I think Faithful should stop selling this ASAP, its a single use plastic nightmare. Please search for a stainless steal or brass 16mm spigot instead - trust me you'll be happier for it. I love my Stefani system, but I truly hate this eco disaster of an accessory.

The Stefani water filter makes use of this tap. I have found that when using the top activating lever, it can wear easily if not lubricated by some light oil to aid its movement. A few drops of oil let's the tap lever move much more easily and last much longer than it would when used as supplied in the packaging.

Bought this to replace the tap in our 26 year old Stefani water filter. Took the advice from a previous review to put a drop of oil on the working parts. It fits well and is working perfectly so far.

Tap didn't make it to 4 months even, before the spring broke through the plastic and wouldn't turn off. If you disassemble the tap completely, before that happens, and fit a thin, broad washer between the lever arm and the circular base it rides on, it will prevent it wearing out and will distribute the pressure better. I managed to repair mine after the fact, using 2 washers, but it's not the same. Or just get rid of your stefani products and get another brand.
