• Sodium Benzoate is listed as a nasty in our pocket guide when used in food, but is considered safe in cosmetics due to its low concentration and inability to penetrate the skin. Approved by Ecocert and other trusted bodies, it’s rated low risk by EWG. While some online reports raise concerns, we believe it’s a safer preservative. The choice is yours.
